Piece – A finalist in the Plateau Art Prize 2026!

I'm delighted to share that my work, Piece, has been selected as a finalist in the Plateau Art Prize 2026.

This year's exhibition brings together 32 works by 29 artists, each responding to the question “What deserves our attention?” It's a wonderful opportunity to see how differently artists interpret the things that matter to them, and I'm looking forward to seeing the ideas and perspectives that come together in the exhibition.

Piece is a framed work measuring 596 x 596mm, from my ongoing collection Some of Its Parts. It explores the idea that a whole is made up of many smaller things — individual fragments, details and moments that might seem insignificant on their own, but together create something meaningful. It's a reminder that sometimes it's the little things, and the connections between them, that deserve our attention.

The exhibition opens this Friday, 6 November, from 5pm at Black Fig Gallery, Alstonville, and I'd love to see some familiar faces there.

If you're nearby, come along, have a look, meet the artists and enjoy an evening celebrating the creativity of our local art community.

Hope to see you there!
